Jump of Faith

By Kelly Kam

My first day in the United States was March 15 of this year. For me many things are different from my country, but everything has been an adventure. When the plane was arriving, the pilot said “let’s land” and the truth scared me a lot. It was so cloudy you couldn’t see the runway. In my country the weather is tropical and humid, and the language is Spanish, but in United States it is cold and dry, the language is English, and they also have many seasons. I had never touched snow or hail and they were beautiful. It’s a wonderful creation of God. The variety of food and advanced technology they have is great. The places I have been to see are: Mt. Rainier, Northwest Trek, Pioneer Farm Museum, Tulip Town, supermarkets, malls and restaurants and casinos, unforgettable experiences. The people are polite and friendly. I love nature and animals that I had never seen in person. The only thing is that I would like to be able to communicate with others better. That’s why I’m trying to learn the language, because I never thought that God would give me happiness to be able to be here in the United States living beautiful moments. It seemed unattainable and now I am here thanks to Him.
