Anonymous

Diwali is very big Indian festival. In India people from different Indian heritage celebrate Diwali, no matter who is come from which culture. I am very glad that I was born in India and I celebrate Diwali every year. On particular day if about 15% of the world population is celebrating by lighting of lamp it must be something significant, that’s why Diwali is called the festival of lights. The word Diwali derive from the Sanskrit word Deepavali, Deepa means deep, avali means series.

Diwali is celebrated as Lord Rama returned to Ajodhya after 14 years of exile. It is celebrated in October or November each year. This festival makes the victory of light over darkness. On this festival people decorated their house with colorful Diya, rangoli designs, flowers etc. People prepare sweet dishes like Laddus, karanjis, kadboli, etc. to eat and distribute them relatives and friends. People worship Goddess Laxmi and Lord Ganesha on third day of Diwali. Five days of Diwali starting from Dhanteras to Bhaidhuj. Diwali is the festival of love, unity, hopes, victory and happiness life.
