36 Import public Pressbooks

You can import your public Pressbooks to Canvas by following these steps:

1. Start at the ‘Organize’ page
2. Select ‘Export’
3. Select the ‘Common Cartridge with Web Links’ among ‘Export Options’
4. Select ‘EXPORT YOUR BOOK’
5. Hover cursor over the exported book
6. Select to download the book onto your computer
7. Find the downloaded book on your computer

To import all content

1. Access your Canvas course ‘Settings’
2. Select ‘Import Course Content’
3. Select ‘Import Content – Content Type’
4. Select ‘Common Cartridge 1.x Package’ as ‘Content Type’
5. Select ‘Choose File’ & Upload the file you’ve downloaded on your computer
6. Select ‘All Content’
7. Select ‘Import’
8. Import complete!
9. Select ‘Modules’ to check.
10. Done!

To import selected content

1. Access your Canvas course ‘Settings’
2. Select ‘Import Course Content’
3. Select ‘Import Content – Content Type’
4. Select ‘Common Cartridge 1.x Package’ as ‘Content Type’
5. Select ‘Choose File’ & Upload the file you’ve downloaded on your computer
6. Select ‘Select Specific Content’ to import selected content from your Pressbooks
7. Select ‘Import’
8. Select ‘Select Content’
9. Select ‘Modules’
10. Select the chapters to transfer from your Pressbooks to your Canvas page
11. Select ‘Select Content’
12. Select ‘Modules’ to check
13. Done!
