15 Annotation with Hypothesis
Hypothesis is a web annotation tool. It allows readers to highlight and annotate webpages, enabling deeper engagement with content. Once Hypothesis is enabled on your Webbook, readers coming to the book will see the Hypothesis toolbar on the right.
The reader has to log in to the hypothesis to highlight, annotate and share. Readers have the option to make their annotations private, share them with a group, or make them public.
Integrate Hypothesis
You can integrate Hypothesis in 5 steps.
- Start at the ‘Dashboard‘ page
- Hover cursor over ‘Settings“
- Click the ‘Hypothesis‘ button
- Select ‘Hypothesis Settings‘
- Click “Save Changes‘

Add Hypothesis on a specific page
You can add Hypothesis on a specific page in 11` steps.
- Start at the ‘Dashboard‘ page
- Hover cursor over the chapter to integrate
- Copy chapter ID number
- Go back to the ‘Dashboard‘ page
- Hover cursor over ‘Settings‘
- Click ‘Hypothesis‘
- Locate the space to enter the chapter ID
- Paste chapter ID
- Click ‘Save Changes‘
- Done!
