3 Carnitas

Ingredients

  • 8 pounds of pork shoulder
  • 1 orange
  • Half an onion
  • 6 garlic cloves
  • 1 cup of orange juice
  • 1  evaporated milk
  • 1 Coca Cola
  • 2 Tablespoon of salt
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 pound of lard

Steps

  1. Cut the pork into cubes. Fry in lard with in a heavy bottom and flat pot.
  2. Once all sides of the pork are brown add the other ingredients and bring to a simmer.
  3. Cook for approximately an hour. Remove meat and let drain on a wire rack.
  4. Pull or chop up to serve.
